ALL DENIM
Posted: May 23, 2012 Filed under: Photoshoot | Tags: GAP, LEVIS, photoshoot Leave a comment »Shot with Chris Pollack and Karen Hopwood at Maroubra Beach today.
The call time was 5:30 to catch the Sunrise at 6:30. I had 3.5 hours sleep over night. Sad face. It went super well though, and worth the early morning. I focused on double denim looks with denim royalty, like GAP and LEVIS.
Chris was lucky enough to meet a pair of bohemian French backpackers when he was looking at the site yesterday, and they were kind enough to offer their van as a prop to use.

I WOULD DIE 4 U
Posted: May 22, 2012 Filed under: Music, Uncategorized | Tags: allphones arena, i would die 4 u, prince, sydney Leave a comment »I was lucky enough to score a free ticket to see Prince tonight. It was his third show in Sydney and his final in Australia, and I cant believe I almost missed it. But thanks to Bec’s lovely aunty working at the venue, and some ’Corporate suite’ tickets, we were so close we could smell the flamboyance.
He played for about 2 hours, and had about 5 encores. I was incredibly impressed that the 50 year old could still manage to ooze sex appeal whilst sporting a purple silk tuxedo and platform heels.

OZDARE HAIR

I worked with Head Over Heels salon in Newtown to put together their TRANSFORMANCE show for Ozdare.
The hair stylists of HOH were required to perform great tasks before an audience of other hairdressers, demonstrating skills ranging from hair braiding, to colouring and cutting.
One of their main themes was the 1970s as a tribute to the late Vidal Sassoon, which I was into. Bold jewellery and cute dresses/ shorts.

GRZYBOWSKI

Grzybowski graduated from UTS last year, and collection was one of the coolest graduating series I’ve ever seen. She uses these thick fabrics and creates these incredible free-standing forms. Shes also super humble, and totally deserves whatever good things come her way, including her recent scholarship to work for Calvin Klein in New York.
We trecked up to the Sand dunes near Nelson’s bay. we shot most of Grzybowski’s white collection, which i teamed with metallic chokers and cuffs

MANNING CARTELL MBFWA
Posted: May 1, 2012 Filed under: event, runway | Tags: Manning Cartell, MBFWA Leave a comment »I was lucky enough to work backstage at the Manning Cartell show yesterday. It was held in a Darlinghurst church, the runway right down the main aisle. At the head of the aisle stood beautiful botanical display, tying in with the beautiful floral prints coming through the collection.

GRIFFIN
Posted: April 10, 2012 Filed under: contemporary goth, designer | Tags: griffin leather, skull purse, SKULLS Leave a comment »I was recently contacted by the creative mind behind Griffin Leather in regards to a post i made about Natalia Brilli (you can see the post here)
Brilli constructs these skull purses I really liked, until Brian Griffin alerted me of his work.
I dont really know too much about leather work, but you can see the difference in quality.
Brilli simply gets a plastic cast, and uses garment leather to case it, whilst Griffin has a whole lengthy process of molding leather, which I think retains the amazing shape and also a much richer texture.
I really like the red leather, which he apparently casted a real human skull to get the form. nuts.
