In the heart of Dublin City center, the shadowy streets around Central Bank bore witness to a dark and mysterious gathering of early 2000s youth culture. As the weekend revealed itself,  a haunting transformation took place, as pale faces adorned with heavy eyeliner emerged from the depths of the city. Clad in trousers (so baggy you could put two legs down one leg hole by mistake), band shirts, and spiked accessories, they congregated in solemn gatherings, their presence casting an eerie pallor over the once bustling square. The flickering lamplight revealed their unique fashion sense, adorned with silver chains, spiked collars, and intense amounts of black eyeliner. Whispers of angst-ridden music drifted through the air, intermingling with the distant sounds of the city, as they sought refuge in their enigmatic sanctuary, finding solace in the darkness that enveloped them. Their enigmatic allure seemed to draw curious gazes from passersby, who could not help but be captivated by the enigmatic aura that surrounded the denizens of this shadowy realm.

Then they'd hear the impossible - a bellowed yet somehow slurred insult from some lad skulking past in a tracksuit: "Yeeeeeeeeeer look at the bleeeerin' goffs."

It wasn't clever. It wasn't ever original. It was merely yet another indication that you were different
